Christ Is Seated In the Heavens

See Colossians 2:20 – 3:4.

Christ is seated in the heavens,
Far above all earthly names and fame and honor.
Christ, exalted by the Father,
Sits in glory that’s eternal, never fading,
And we’re waiting for the day,
The day of His appearing.
We’ll be hearing heaven and earth
Declare His majesty and praise.

And here we are on earth,
But our life is hidden above,
At the Father’s mighty right hand with our Lord,
Who is our life, our all in all.

Our life below is done.
We died along with Christ.
And end has come to every earthly thought.

So let our minds be new.
Let us think of higher things.
The things above must be our only rule.

Let us learn the mind of Christ.
Let us follow in His ways.
As He showed us, let us walk the paths of love.
Let charity control, humility be true,
Gentleness and peace control each day.

Let compassion burn within.
Ourselves forget, and serve those all around.
When wronged, forgiveness true must be our aim.
Let us others always place before ourselves.

And when Christ should be revealed –
Let us glory in this hope –
We too  shall in His glory share a part.
Such grace beyond our dreams!
That we should honored be!

O Christ, our lives – now use them as You will.
