I am thankful to the Lord that in the last few hours He has reminded me of important priorities in life. Specifically, I have been reminded in my heart and soul about the importance of spending time with my children to teach them and shape them and influence them. I believe greatly in the importance of this, and I bet you do, too. It is so easy, though, to get caught up in the many activities of life and forget to take the time to do this as much as we should.
I probably don’t really need to explain to you the importance of the matter. You already know that. But a reminder might be very fruitful. I know it has been for me, and I trust that by God’s grace that reminder will become a valuable reality this very day as I spend time with my children more than I have been lately. Perhaps you could benefit from this same reminder?
And I would hope that another lesson might be seen in this, one that we all need to learn if we have not already: We can help one another. That seems obvious enough, doesn’t it, but I am convinced that we need to see our interdependence in a far deeper way than we have. There are so many ways that we need to rely upon the help of others (and provide it to them in return as well), but one basic and profound way is simply that we can help each other think about and put into practice the things that we all know are important in life. If we help encourage one another in regards to things we already know, I believe our knowledge will become far more beneficial to us in reality.
That is such a need for me. If I just consistently practiced and lived all the truth I already know, my life would be far more pleasing to God. I need to do better in and of my own right, to be sure, but it is also clear that we need the help of one another to do this, and that is by God’s own design.
So then, how can you remind and encourage others in regards to these things? Do you have the relationships that you need with brothers and sisters in the Lord so that you can receive this help that is so vital? Let’s work together to remind ourselves of the important things of life. May God help us and bless us to do so!
