Classical Arminianism, by Leroy Forlines

If anyone is interested, a few friends and I are going to be reading a theology book by Leroy Forlines: Classical Arminianism.  You might like to read the book as well and follow some potential discussion of it here on this blog.

I have discussed some issues of salvation and theology with various people who do not know what Arminianism really is.  In fact, most people who would call themselves “Reformed” would not even think that Arminians could rightly be called “reformed.”  One thing that this book attempts to do is to lay out a picture of “Reformed Arminianism.”  It seeks to present a theological basis for Arminianism that is not the Pelagian view that many people unfortunately associate with the term Arminianism.

If you are “Reformed” or Calvinistic in your theology and think that Arminianism is a terrible heresy and false gospel, this book might give a better perspective on what true Arminianism looks like.  I might make your attitude towards Arminians a bit more gracious and understanding.  That would be one goal I would like to strive for.
